September 5th Deadline: Insurance Fee

The deadline to pay your student's insurance fee is quickly approaching.

Payment is due by Friday, September 5th.

We currently have over 300 students with unpaid insurance fees.

If the fee is not paid by September 5th, the family will be responsible for 100% of the repair or replacement costs, even for the first incident.

Paying this fee helps avoid unexpected expenses if a device is damaged.

Repair fees and replacement fees commonly range between $100-$300.

The fee is already on your student's online InTouch account. Families can pay online or with cash in person.

For more info, view the Family Technology Handbook

Senate Bill 12 - Action Needed

The new Texas law, Senate Bill 12, requires action for MISD parents!

In accordance with the new Texas law, Senate Bill 12, Mesquite ISD is requesting written consent for your child to participate in clubs and organizations and receive school-based health and counseling services from qualified district personnel. The personnel may include school nurses, counselors, social workers, athletic trainers, and other certified health and mental health professionals.

This legislation mandates that parents/guardians are fully informed and give permission for care and support. In a serious emergency, staff will still act to protect your child’s safety and will contact you immediately. Staff may verbally inquire about a student’s daily well-being.

Providing consent allows your child access to timely and reliable services supporting your child’s health, safety, wellness, and readiness to learn. Without your consent, staff will be limited in the services they can provide to your child during the school day.

Bag Policy for Athletics

As we enter the Fall sports season, we would love to see you supporting our Vikings! Please be aware of Mesquite ISD's bag policy for all athletic events at all athletic venues.

To provide a safer environment for our students, staff, and guests, Mesquite ISD has a clear bag policy at all middle and high school athletic events hosted by the District. This clear bag policy limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into any MISD athletic facility and is very similar to policies adopted by many of our opponents and neighboring school districts.

Backpacks, including clear backpacks, are not allowed at MISD athletic venues.
